Esmeralda Ranch

Esmeralda is definitely one of the best bass fisheries
in Mexico. The average bass is from 3 to 6 pounds; many
of our guests have taken some giants - the lake record is over
12 pounds. There is also a healthy population of small mouth
bass; with the current lake record just under 7 pounds. The
most popular baits are top water baits, worms and spinner
baits. Just bring along your
favorite tackle and try it out. We also have some gigantic catfish.
We have a catch and release policy that has been enforced
during the past 12 years.
The
lake capacity is at 100% and we expect to have one of the best
fishing seasons to date.
a 3,300 acre man made lake
built in the San Rodrigo River- a big tributary to the Rio
Grande River.
The lake has been featured in several sports and outdoors
channels. Some of our guest celebrities have been Orlando
Wilson, Jimmy Houston, Cajun Phil, Keith Warren and Ron
Franklin with ESPN outdoors.
This lake is
a great for bass clubs. Imagine fishing a bass club tournament
where you catch fish all day long. Plus at any given time a
wide variety of patterns work. This is definitely the place to
go if you want the entire club to catch fish.

Esmeralda Ranch is a 17,000 acre Ranch just minutes from the
border with Eagle Pass, Tx. Is located just 18 miles
west of Piedras Negras México.
 The
guest house is overlooking the lake. It has electricity, running water, bathrooms, kitchen
(with microwave) and facilities that
sleep 15 people comfortably.
The launch
ramp is cut into the bluff beside the house. At times it may
require a 4 wheel drive vehicle to launch.
